Most installed in Passaic Vinyl fence in Passaic County
The most-requested residential fence in Wayne, Hawthorne and Totowa — low maintenance matters on properties that already flood-manage a yard every spring.
Passaic County is home. Our shop sits in Wayne, minutes from every town in the county — from Paterson's urban core to the lake communities up north. Fastest scheduling we offer anywhere in New Jersey.
Passaic County is where Fence Pro by Bruno is based. Our shop and yard are in Wayne, roughly in the geographic middle of the county, which means Passaic County customers get our fastest estimates, our fastest scheduling and the easiest callbacks when something needs adjusting. There is no travel surcharge and no waiting for a crew to come back across the state.
The county splits into two very different fencing markets. The southern end — Paterson, Passaic City, Clifton, Prospect Park, Haledon — is dense, older housing stock on narrow lots, much of it multi-family. Fences there are about security, boundary certainty and cost per foot, which is why chain link and vinyl privacy do most of the work. Property lines are frequently unclear on century-old subdivisions, so we build from the survey and document it.
North of Route 23 the county changes completely. Ringwood, West Milford, Wanaque and Bloomingdale sit in the New Jersey Highlands: large wooded lots, steep grade, shallow bedrock, and watershed land around the Wanaque Reservoir. Fence runs get long, terrain gets unfriendly, and deer pressure is real. Cedar, pressure-treated wood and split rail carry that work, often stepped down a slope rather than racked.
In the middle sits Wayne, our home town, and it comes with its own condition: flood plain. Properties along the Pompton and Passaic rivers flood on a schedule, and a fence set the ordinary way will lean or float. We set posts deeper, choose materials that survive submersion, and design panels that let water through instead of acting as a dam.

Paterson and Passaic City run on it: galvanized and black PVC-coated perimeters for row lots, driveways, businesses and multi-family properties where security and budget both matter.
Cedar and pressure-treated pine dominate the northern lake communities — West Milford, Ringwood, Wanaque — where fences run along wooded, sloped and often unsurveyed rear lines.

Every county in New Jersey has its own ground, its own rules and its own failure modes. These are the four that decide how we build here.
Large parts of Wayne, Pompton Lakes, Little Falls and Totowa sit in mapped flood zones. We set posts deeper, avoid materials that fail after submersion, and design the run so floodwater passes through rather than pushing the fence over.
In West Milford, Ringwood and Wanaque, shallow bedrock and steep grade are the norm. We step fence runs down slopes and core into rock for proper post depth rather than shortening the hole.
Paterson and Passaic City subdivisions predate modern surveying practice. We work from your survey — and tell you when you need one — so the fence goes where the deed says, not where the old fence was.
Properties bordering the Wanaque Reservoir watershed and state park land carry extra restrictions on what can be built and how close. We check before we quote.
There is no single county-wide fence ordinance in New Jersey — each of Passaic County's 16 municipalities writes its own. Here is the pattern, and how we handle it.

One per municipality in Passaic County. We verify yours by address before quoting — never by county-wide assumption.
All sixteen Passaic County municipalities require some form of zoning approval for a new fence. Wayne, Clifton, Hawthorne and Pompton Lakes have ordinances we work with constantly and know in detail — including their specific survey, setback and finished-side requirements. Paterson and Passaic City add rental-property and multi-family considerations on top of the standard zoning review.
Flood-zone properties can trigger an additional review depending on the municipality. Because we install here every week, we know which towns ask for what — and we file the paperwork, schedule the inspection and mark out utilities as part of the job, not as an add-on.
